The original Malayalam version of Kireedom had Mohan Lal and Thilakan in respective
lead roles and that movie won the Indian National Award: Special Jury Award -
Feature film of the year 1990. The Tamil remake of the film featuring Ajith and
Trisha has to be competitive as well. The award winning story line elucidates the
father-son sentiment - what happens to the dreams of a father who wishes to see his
son becoming a police officer.

The movie has been shaped by A.L Vijay under the banner of Adlabs Films. Produced by
Suresh Balaji, young talent G. V. Prakash Kumar, the nephew of A.R. Rahman has
composed the music for the words of NA.Muthukumar and Lohithadas. The audio of the
movie stands as a testimony to the talent of the youth! The plot of the movie
revolves around family - the usual bonds, sentiments and finally the moral triumph
of good over evil.

Handsome Ajith, accepting the offer immediately on hearing the story from debut
director A.L.Vijay, is playing the role of a fresh college graduate aspiring to
become a police inspector with Trisha, a typical college girl, as his lady love.

shooting of the movie Ajith and Raj Kiran (who plays the role of Ajith's father in
the movie) have grown intimate and have developed a healthy relationship. So the
